Falcons Journal of Advanced Research (FJAR) enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism, data fabrication, and redundant publication. All manuscripts submitted to FJAR must be original, and any reused text, ideas, or data must be properly cited. Our procedures strictly follow the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines for handling cases of suspected misconduct.
To ensure the integrity of our double-blind peer review process, every manuscript is screened prior to external evaluation using industry-standard software:
Primary similarity detection engine used for all submissions.
Contextual evaluation of citations and paraphrasing by handling editors.
| Metric | Threshold | Editorial Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Overall Similarity Index | ≤ 15% | Manuscript proceeds to Peer Review. |
| Single-Source Similarity | ≤ 3% | Manuscript proceeds (if cited correctly). |
| Borderline Similarity | 16% – 30% | Returned for technical revision and re-screening. |
| Excessive Similarity | > 30% | Desk Rejection for plagiarism or redundancy. |
Note: References, quoted text, and standardized methodology descriptions are excluded from the similarity count.
Submitting substantially the same manuscript to more than one journal or reusing large segments of one's own previously published work without citation is considered "text recycling." Authors must paraphrase and cite their prior work clearly to avoid self-plagiarism flags.
Posting a manuscript on a preprint server (e.g., arXiv, OSF) is not considered prior publication or plagiarism. However, authors must disclose the preprint link during submission to ensure the similarity report is interpreted correctly.
If plagiarism is detected after publication, FJAR will initiate an investigation in accordance with the COPE Retraction Guidelines. Confirmed cases of serious misconduct will result in:
